Troop 457 Summer Camp Announcements

Family summer camp is just a few weeks away, and I need everyone’s attention on a few important items. Please take a few minutes to review the information below and complete any action items as soon as possible. I have placed several documents in a Google Drive for everyone. The link is below

• Adult Leaders: You MUST complete Safeguarding Youth Training before camp. There are no exceptions.

• Camp Packing List: A packing list has been added to the Google Drive. Please review it now so Scouts can begin preparing.

• Whitewater Rafting: A list of everyone participating in whitewater rafting is in the Google Drive. If your Scout is attending, you must complete the online waiver by Friday.

• Scout Schedules: If you misplaced or forgot your Scout’s camp schedule, a complete schedule for every Scout has been uploaded to the Google Drive.

• Merit Badge Prerequisites: As mentioned at previous meetings, some merit badges require work to be completed before arriving at camp. Please review the participant guide in the Google Drive for details. Prerequisite information begins on page 21.

Please take a few minutes today to review the information and complete any required items. If you have questions, please reach out.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmothers, and mother figures who help make Scouting possible for the Scouts of Troop 457.

Thank you for the rides to meetings and campouts, the late-night uniform fixes, the encouragement during challenges, and the countless ways you support your Scouts along the trail to becoming confident leaders and good citizens.

Today we celebrate the women who teach service, kindness, strength, and perseverance by example every single day.

From all of us at Scouting America Troop 457 — Happy Mother’s Day!

The Scouts of Troop 457 had a great time at the pancake breakfast fundraiser! It was not only an opportunity to raise money for the troop, but also a chance for the Scouts to build important life skills like service, work ethic, and communication — all while having fun and working together as a team. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Scouts.

UPDATED Arrangement information:
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own, Andrew “Drew” Perkins, an Eagle Scout from Troop 457.

Drew exemplified the values of Scouting and left a lasting impact on our troop. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his parents, Larry and Diane, and to his brother Chris, who was also a member of our troop. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Visitation arrangements have been made:
Hooper Funeral Home
Saturday, April 4
- Visitation 2:00 PM
- Celebration of Life 3:00 PM

Please keep the Perkins family in your thoughts and prayers as we remember and honor Drew’s life and legacy.
