Alliance for Felix Cove advocates for the protection and restoration of the last remaining 19th century Coast Miwok-built home at Point Reyes National Seashore and to honor the lives of the Coast Miwok (Tamalko) Felix Family. Vision:
Establish a living history center and garden that teaches visitors about how the Felix Family lived sustainably on Tomales Bay and how visitors can learn to live with nature by developing an awareness of Indigenous ecological knowledge and practices.

🌿Tule is a symbol of reciprocity and connection to the earth.
For hundreds of years, Coast Miwok people tended to tule, tall grass with small reddish-brown flowers at the tip. As a versatile plant relative, tule has provided homes, clothing, toys, canoes, baskets, and much more. Tule also kept people, animals, and the ecosystem healthy – nurturing biodiversity and sustainability of coastal land.

We advocate for Indigenous stewardship of Felix Cove – to bring ancestral wisdom and culture to a land we call home.

Connect to our community and learn about upcoming tule programs. https://champ.ly/Pqawqq8N

Happy PRIDE! 🌈

Canelo Cabrera Lopez, Q***r, Trans, Two-Spirit, and Alliance for Felix Cove team member, reminds us that Pride is a verb. When we , we are actively practicing decolonization and showing up for each other in both joyful and difficult moments. Through challenging conversations and the days filled with sun and laughter, how we treat each other frames the foundation of a nurturing community.

How are you celebrating Pride?

What keeps culture alive across generations? It isn’t a single place or practice.
It’s the way people stay in relationship, across tribes, across families, across time.
At Felix Cove, our annual Tule Build is more than just programming. It becomes a point of connection. A space where knowledge is shared, where presence matters, and where each person—regardless of where they come from—has a role in continuing what’s always been.
There’s no one way back. No fixed timeline.
Just the willingness to show up, learn, and be in community.
Watch, listen, and take it in.

A long line of Indigenous women, extending back through generations, sustains the heartbeat of the Alliance for Felix Cove.

Corrina Gould, tribal spokesperson for the Confederated Villages of Lisjan, and a treasured member of the Alliance for Felix Cove Strawberry Sisters Leadership Circle, holds an important place within our hearts. 🍓

Corrina is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of Sogorea Te' Land Trust, an urban land trust founded in 2012 with the goals of returning traditionally Chochenyo and Karkin lands in the San Francisco Bay Area to Indigenous stewardship and cultivating more active, reciprocal relationships with the land.

That same approach shows up in our work at Felix Cove. Our work is about re-matriating, renewing our connection with our ancestral home, and re-Indigenizing, restoring Indigenous knowledge and practices to care for Mother Earth. And Corrina Gould has played an essential role in this work.

What can matriarchy mean? It’s easier to think about it as values. It’s simply not replacing patriarchy with a woman leader.
We think of it as more what it does. For us it means relational, spirit-centered leadership rooted in Indigenous values. We can all be leaders.
Listening with love & humility
Tending to land, water & ancestral spirit
Nurturing deep, reciprocal relationships
Centering storytelling, ceremony, elders & youth
Moving collectively, not hierarchically
Honoring generosity, respect, reciprocity, relationship, gratitude & abundance
What does Matriarchy mean to you?

Today, we celebrate Native Nonprofit Day and the power of Native-led work. 🌱
At the Alliance for Felix Cove, our work is the protection, restoration, and rematriation of ancestral Felix Family Támal-ko homelands within Point Reyes National Seashore. We are working to ensure that Indigenous cultural and ecological knowledge shapes how this sacred land is cared for, and that the Támal-ko are welcomed, present, and centered in decisions about their ancestral homelands.
At the Alliance for Felix Cove, we are rematriating ancestral Támal-ko homelands at Point Reyes National Seashore—restoring a space where culture, healing, and relationship to Mother Earth can thrive.
Native-led organizations are doing important work across the country. Today is about recognizing that and taking action.

Introducing the Alliance for Felix Cove Strawberry Sisters Leadership Circle. 🍓 Josephine S. Talamantez has spent decades working at the intersection of culture, policy, and community—shaping how history is remembered and who gets to hold it.

Her work has never been passive. It’s about access, protection, and continuity.

That same lens is part of what she brings to the Strawberry Sisters Leadership Circle, where this work extends beyond institutions and into legacy. Learn more about the women leading this 🪶 https://champ.ly/YGhStFgx

There is power in the work of Native-led nonprofits. At it’s heart, we share a commitment to care, culture, and community that connects us all and carries us forward.

For Alliance for Felix Cove, this work means protecting, restoring, and rematriating the ancestral Támal-ko homelands of the Felix Family at Point Reyes National Seashore. Our vision is to tend to an Indigenous site of resiliency. Felix Cove is a space of beauty, creativity, and healing where the Támal-ko and all peoples can deepen their relationship to Mother Earth.

On May 21, we celebrate Native Nonprofit Day by reawakening Indigenous culture and uplifting the organizations driving positive change nationwide. Let's amplify this energy with intentional support this month.

Recently, Theresa Harlan met with a top official from the U.S. Department of the Interior during their visit to Point Reyes — an important step in bringing Indigenous perspectives into conversations shaping the future of this land.

This is one step in an ongoing process. Continued visibility and support will help ensure this momentum leads to meaningful change. 🪶 If you haven’t added your name yet, you can still be part of what comes next – visit our website.
