Good evening everyone,
Sorry we have not been as active on this page as we have been in the past. Life gets us and sweeps us up in so many things. Both mike and I are working as well as our 17 year old son and 14 year old daughter.
We have not forgot about anyone though.
As a parent I am nervous for my children to start school in just over a month. Just like every parent we want to protect them. We want to make sure that no one hurts our children and of course every parents fear is that when we entrust our children’s safety to someone else, there is a huge chance that they will still get hurt.
My question for everyone is what are we as parents going to do to protect our children when we have to let them out of our site. How do we prepare them for some of the struggles and trials and tribulations they are going to encounter.
Do they know who their safe person is? Do they know how and to who they should report bullying to? Do they have a person to talk to when things are feeling like it is too much?
And I want all of us parents and children to know that when your child reports bullying to someone in the administration, they are required by law to file that report with the State of Minnesota. Administration does not like to do this because it lowers their school grade. Let’s hold them accountable. Show them that we will not back down until our kids are truly safe and able to focus on getting a great education and set them up for life.
