With the current heat wave, IAFF Local 5251 encourages all to limit their outdoor exposure as much as possible. If working or spending time in these temperatures is unavoidable, please ensure you stay properly hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

Lastly, be sure to know the signs and symptoms of both heat exhaustion and heat stroke, so you are aware of how recognize heat related emergencies in those around you.

Recently, firefighters responded to a call from a concerned citizen about ducks being trapped in a drain. Firefighters arrived and were able to rescue eight baby ducks, safely uniting them with their mother.

Our deepest condolences are extended to the family of Alexis Pierce, as well as our partners at M Health Fairview - EMS. Alexis was an M Health Fairview Paramedic who served Inver Grove Heights and the surrounding communities. She will be missed.

Congratulations are in order!
Tonight, brother Dane Rolloff was officially sworn in as a new Captain and brother Roger LeDoux sworn in as a new Lieutenant!! They started their new positions a couple weeks ago but were made official at tonight's city council meeting. Congratulations gentleman!
