Believe in Books Literacy Foundation A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to strengthen communities across Northern New England through literacy programs and educational opportunities.

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has a broadening mission to enhance the quality of life through exposure, education, and the engagement of reading and bringing stories to life. The Literacy Foundation is a Charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, and supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers from the communities we serve. The net proceeds o

f our events and merchandise sales are designed to go towards our Literacy Foundation and programs. As a result of nineteen years of fundraising efforts, the Literacy Foundation has given over 1.3 million dollars through literacy programs, scholarships, grants and book distributions in Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine. We visit over 50 preschools reaching over 1,200 households and have given out over 50,000 books in the past ten years.

A big congratulations to the Gorham Community Learning Center Pre-K graduates! We are so proud of each student as they take this exciting step toward Kindergarten next year. We’re excited to launch the very first Believe in Books Literacy Foundation Book Club this summer! 📚

Join us as we read one new book each month, take part in online discussions, and gather at Theater in the Wood for a fun end-of-the-month celebration with themed food, crafts, music, costumes, and more.

Our first celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1st, and we’d love to have you join us!
