Food Value Tip:
We all Know about Lemonade here in the South, Well... Here's More! Try Adding a couple of Slices of Lemon to your Drinking Water, or Keep a Pitcher of Water in the Fridge with a slice or Two of Lemon. Not only will it make your Water Taste Better, it Helps in Improving your Weight Loss Efforts, and helps your body absorb vital nutrients!

Household Cleaning Tip:
If you have a Microwave that is constantly getting "stuck on" goo, from users that Never Cover their items or that Lovely Burnt Popcorn!!! Take a Glass or Ceramic Microwave Safe Bowl, Fill 3/4 Full of Water and Add a whole Sliced Lemon to the Water. Pop in the Microwave for 3-5 Minutes.. Then Safely Remove the Bowl (with Mitts) then take a Damp Cloth, Wipe Clean. Not only will it loosen the Goo Safely and effectively, it will take any remnant odors out of your microwave.

Veronica's Hot Spinach, Artichoke and Chile Dip

"This recipe is always a hit at parties. I combined my two favorite recipes--artichoke chili dip and hot spinach dip--into this one recipe."

Original recipe makes 10 servings Change Servings

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1 (4.5 ounce) can chopped green chiles, drained

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 (12 ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

1/4 cup canned chopped jalapeno peppers, drained

1 (10 ounce) box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix together the cream cheese and mayonnaise in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the green chiles, Parmesan cheese, artichokes, peppers, and spinach. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish.
Bake in preheated oven until slightly browned, about 30 minutes.

Garlic-Roasted Asparagus
Makes: 6 servings
Prep 15 mins Roast 10 mins Oven 450°F

1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus spears
2 - 3 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced
2 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Snap off and discard woody bases from asparagus. Place asparagus and garlic in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat.

2. Roast for 10 to 15 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender, stirring once halfway through roasting. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.

Here at the Bread Basket, We provide much more that Just Bread and Cakes. We also try to provide Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Dry Goods, Canned Goods and Meats When available.
Many Foods can be preserved, frozen and used in many ways. I would like to start posting recipes for meals based on the typical foods that we try to provide.
I would Also like to Share Coupon Information and Links for Our clients to utilize.
Everyone is Stretching their food Dollars these days. So Every Little Bit Helps. Not to mention, its tough, trying to make the same ole thing time after time without getting burned out on it.
