🎉 Happy Birthday, Annie Armstrong! 🎉

“…Annie's greatest legacy isn't a name on an offering.

It's the countless lives transformed by the gospel because she faithfully said "yes" to God.”

🎉 Happy Birthday, Annie Armstrong! 🎉

Today, we celebrate a woman whose life continues to impact North America more than a century after she lived.

Annie Armstrong wasn't a celebrity.

She didn't have a platform by the world's standards.

But she had something far more powerful:

A heart that burned for the gospel.

When many ignored the needs of missionaries and underserved communities, Annie spoke up.

When churches needed encouragement to engage in God's mission, Annie mobilized them.

When others saw obstacles, Annie saw opportunities for the gospel to advance.

She challenged believers to pray boldly.
To give sacrificially.
To care deeply about people who needed Jesus.

And because she did, generations of missionaries, church planters, and churches have been supported in taking the hope of Christ to communities across North America.

The truth is, Annie's greatest legacy isn't a name on an offering.

It's the countless lives transformed by the gospel because she faithfully said "yes" to God.

Today, we're grateful for Annie.

And we're grateful for every person who continues her legacy by praying, giving, and going so that others might know Jesus. 💙

July 7, 1873, the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board appointed Lottie Moon as a missionary to China.

Moon would spend nearly 40 years serving the Chinese people, becoming one of the most influential missionaries in Southern Baptist history. Through her letters home, she challenged churches to pray, give, and send more missionaries.
Her passionate appeals eventually inspired what became the annual Christmas offering that now bears her name.

✨The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering began in 1895 with a simple but powerful idea: when God’s people pray and give together, lives are changed.

➡️ The offering was started by the Woman’s Missionary Union and later named for Annie Armstrong. Annie was a bold advocate for missions and WMU’s first national leader.

⚠️ Today, more than $2 billion has been given to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering by faithful churches and individuals to support missionaries, plant churches, and meet real needs through compassion ministry, right here in North America!

Because of that faithfulness, millions of lives have been—and continue to be—transformed by the power of the gospel.

This is more than a tradition.
It’s more than a gift.
It’s a movement of faith from ordinary believers that God continues to use in extraordinary ways. 💙
