I want to personally thank all of our friends and family for your kindness and condolences on the death of my husband Keith. We laid him to rest in the family plot in a small intimate ceremony this past week exactly as he wanted. Keith made a difference for many people during his 82 years and will be greatly missed. I love him so much. I know that someday I will see him again. Now he is in God”s arms and with his beloved ponies. Thank you to Pastor Kim Biery for a lovely service that honored a good man who left this world a better place for having been here.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of one of our founders, Keith Guthrie. Keith and his wife Stephanie opened up Sundance Farm, a nonprofit organization in 2005 working with children with disabilities and the elderly using his miniature horses and ponies. He spent many happy days taking the miniature horses to hospitals and nursing homes to bring smiles to the residents and patients. He also did Christmas carriage rides with his beloved ponies, Pete and Shadow and his specially adapted wheelchair accessible carriage. He is survived by his wife Stephanie, daughter Stacy and her husband Monte, 3 children and one great grandaughter and brother Gene. Stephanie plans the help of volunteers to continue his good work. The family is asking in lieu of flowers for donations to Sundance Farm through our Paypal address at:
[email protected]
Or our location at:

Keith will be deeply missed by many throughout Kansas

While I am in Florida I found a really special place to grab a bite to eat. It’s called Grover’s Fingers and Wings. Good food. Reasonable prices. If any of our friends are ever in Pensacola it’s worth stopping in for a bite. 👍👍

A huge thank you goes out to Aaron Buller and all the young men at Scout Troop 7313. They came out to our nonprofit farm today and built the most amazing shelter for our two therapy ponies Rosie and Cochise. They braved nearly zero degree cold and got it done. Now the ponies will have a great shelter from the Kansas winter and be healthy and ready to take on more therapy pony visits come spring. Thank you to all. Oh and I don’t want to forget Aaron’s dad Richard too. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️😘

Good morning to all our friends and supporters of Sundance Farm. We thank you for your help throughout the year to take our miniature horses to nursing homes and care facilities all over Kansas and the surrounding states. Each of you are blessing to us and to the people we serve.
Today is what we in the nonprofit world call "giving Tuesday"
Its a day when we reach out to the community to help support out activities throughout the year.
This year we are asking for help to pay for the hay for our therapy ponies. Hay prices have nearly doubled over the past year.
It would be a blessing for us if you could help us with that cost. No amount is too small. our Paypal address is: [email protected]
Thank you for your help and your support

We at Sundance Farm are so excited to see the Covid restrictions starting to lift in Kansas. We are starting to get inquiries about bringing Little Red into the local care facilities.
We owe a big thank you to our supporters and volunteers who make it possible to continue this work even in the light of some personal health issues. Thank you for all you are doing. And of course, thank you Little Red for being such a friendly mini.

This is a long post.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved precious mini donkey Hoss. Rescued from the auction in Kansas 13 years ago, Hoss was born with significant rear foot and limb deformities that caused him to walk on his rear pasterns. Early on in his time with us he slipped in the mud and ripped most of his rear foot off. Through heroic efforts from Prairie Vista vets and Kansas State University he had a stump that was fitted with a prosthetic at Orthopets in Colorado. Our Kansas Blacksmith Carey Macy was able to get the other rear foot stabilized and upright. This worked for many years. Then tragically last year our little Houdini broke into the big horse pen and in running, shattered the sesamoid bones in his right front leg. The vets at KState did a support wrap to see if it would heal. The joint fused but he could barely walk on it. In the fall of 2020 he moved with his mommy to Florida and became a resident of Panhandle Equine Rescue. He lived there happily, enjoying the warmer weather and the company of his mommy and all the wonderful volunteers His new blacksmith Jim LaClair worked hard to give him the best possible mobility. Unfortunately in the past month our beloved little man has been showing signs of decline. He has nearly stopped eating and was dropping weight quickly. He was telling us he had enough. So yesterday evening June 24th we helped our baby to cross the Rainbow Bridge into God’s loving arms where we are certain he is safe and happy and in the company of many of his friends who have gone there before. We look forward to seeing him again when our time here is done. We love you Hoss. ❤️😘😢
