One of the intake questions on our new family forms is “are you able to watch your child fail?”

Stepping in is comfort. It solves the immediate discomfort of the struggle. But that is a barrier to progress.

Failure is a key learning tool at Acton Academy of 30A so if we want progress - we need to allow failure to be a teacher….as painful as it may be at times.

Thinking about joining the Acton 30A journey this year.
Here’s some important info:

We do accept Step Up for Students scholarship funds but as a registered home school tutoring center. That means families must register their learner as a home school student in order to apply scholarship funds to Acton Academy of 30A.

This path allows us to stay true to our learner-driven model while still supporting families with funding options. 🙌

🗓️ Mark your calendars:
Applications open February 1st at stepupforstudents.org.

*** note Applications close Thursday, April 30, 2026 for all new and renewal applications. This was new last year and not clear to many who ended up unable to get funds.

We’re here to walk alongside you as you take the leap into a radically different kind of education, one where your child is seen, challenged, and trusted.

At Acton Academy of 30A, failure isn’t a red mark or a reason to feel ashamed. It’s part of the process…sometimes the most important part.

We don’t rescue our learners from discomfort. We walk alongside them as they face it.

That means:
🔹 Projects that fall apart…and get rebuilt
🔹 Goals that aren’t hit…until they are
🔹 Feedback that stings…then leads to real growth

It’s not easy. It’s not polished. But it’s real learning.

If you’re a parent who feels a little uncomfortable watching your child stumble, you’re not alone. But this is where the grit is built. Where self-awareness deepens. Where ownership takes root.

Let’s raise young people who know how to get back up…not just how to get it “right.”
