Friday night was a perfect reminder of what makes the Midway community so special.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to help us honor Coach Horner and celebrate the re-dedication of Horner Field. Seeing so many former students, athletes, families, friends, and community members come together made for an unforgettable the evening.

Coach Horner gave 34 years to Midway, and we are incredibly proud to have his name on our field. Seeing so many generations of Monarchs gathered in one place to celebrate him was pretty special!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the night possible, and most of all — thank you, Coach Horner, for everything you’ve given to Midway!

Coach Horner began coaching in 1975 and spent 34 years coaching generations of area athletes in Midway Monarch basketball, Midway-Fordville-Lankin-Minto football and Midway Monarch Baseball, and Midway-Minto Legion baseball.

This photo wasn’t planned. These former players simply happened to be at Horner Field last night, cheering on the Midway-Minto Mustangs in their first game of the season — and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get them together beneath Coach Horner’s name.

The new scoreboard, donated by the Mini Monarchs and Midway Boosters, proudly bears the Horner Field name in recognition of his decades of dedication to our athletes and communities.

Now we want to make the next picture even bigger.

If you were coached by Coach Horner, please join us September 18, for the Midway-Minto Homecoming game and the official dedication of Horner Field. We hope to gather as many of Coach Horner’s former athletes as possible for one very special group photo.

Please help us spread the word to former players!

And Congrats to Midway Minto Mustangs Co-op Football team on a season opening win!!

❤️🖤 Midway Boosters is about more than just sports.

We proudly support student opportunities across athletics, academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities—including FCCLA.

This year, the Midway Boosters helped fund 16 students, along with one advisor and two chaperones, as they represented Midway at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

To make the trip even more memorable, we also sent each student with $50 in spending money so they could experience and enjoy our nation’s capital while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We are incredibly proud of these students for representing Midway on the national stage. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment, and thank you for making our school and community proud!

When you support the Midway Boosters, you’re investing in opportunities for all Midway students—not just athletes. Thank you for helping us provide experiences that inspire, develop, and empower the next generation. ❤️🖤

Hats off to the Class of 2026! 🎓

This group has set the bar high in both academics and extracurricular activities. Thank you for being such incredible role models for the students at Midway!

We want to congratulate Jersey Riske on receiving our Midway Booster Scholarship Award for $1,000. Choosing just one recipient for this scholarship was no easy task because of how involved and accomplished these seniors are.

Jersey is active in jazz band, high school band and music, volleyball, softball, student council, and National Honor Society. She also mentors middle school band students. All of this was accomplished while maintaining a 3.96 GPA and ranking among the top students in her class academically.

Congratulations, Jersey, and best wishes to you and the entire class of 2026! 🎉

Congratulations to the Midway-Minto Mustang girls that not only shined on the court, but also in their academics.
