OWNER FOUND.
From a neighbor:
Someone’s deck umbrella ended up under our car last week after the bad snow storm. I’d like to help find its owner. Large blue. Off the golf course in Phase 3.
If this is yours, please contact Laura Miller at [email protected].

Useful info from a neighbor:
We just stopped by the McCandless Township office and showed my drivers license and a copy of a current bill and in moments the Secretary processed our request for the Trash Bill 10% discount. It was so quick and easy!
Can you get word out to our Brook Park Seniors? Many may not have been aware of this simple way to reduce their cost of living expenses.
There's also an additional 5% discount for paying the bill annually.

My name is Erica-Joy, and I live on King Charles Drive. I’m offering Christmas photography mini sessions this season and wanted to share the details with families in our neighborhood. I studied photography and film production in college, so I’m excited to offer high-quality photos to anyone interested. I’ve attached an image of my flyer.

Thanks, and happy holidays!

No-one has yet signed up to coordinate the annual Luminaries sale, so we are looking for volunteer(s). The previous coordinator will provide instruction & advice on how to do it, so you won't be starting from scratch.

If no-one volunteers, it won't happen... so please help keep this beautiful neighborhood tradition going!

If you are willing to help, please email [email protected].

Several people at the Pool Labor Day event were eager to see last year's Oktoberfest Party Bus return. This post is to gauge how much additional interest there is. The available Oktoberfest day is Saturday September 27th (does not conflict with Pitt Homecoming this year).

Anyone who was on last year's multi-site Oktoberfest Party Bus, or the party buses to the Penn Brewery that used to happen years ago, knows how fun this can be.

If you are interested, please answer the questions on the Google Form so we can figure out if there's enough attendance to make it worthwhile. This is not a commitment to go, just an indication of how likely you are to attend. There are two additional non-Oktoberfest dates listed, in case we don't have enough people for Sep 27 but there is enough interest for a general Brewery Bus Tour on those other dates.

There are over 75 breweries in the Pittsburgh region - we'll go to the Penn Brewery and Hofbrauhaus for Oktoberfest for sure, and possibly one or two others if they look promising. On the party bus we can bring our own coolers and tunes, so even the transit time is a good time!

The cost is $60/person. The Civic Association will supply snacks and water. Please respond by Thursday noon so we can get the bus reserved.

🚲 E-Bikes in PA — What Parents & the Community Need to Know

There has been an uptick in calls this year involving e-bikes and the legality of their use.

PennDOT has published the PA Micromobility Fact Sheet to clarify the rules for e-bikes, scooters, and other low-speed, motorized devices on Pennsylvania roadways.

Officers have discretion to issue warnings or citations to juveniles and/or parents for violations of the PA Vehicle Code.

In addition, transportation devices being used improperly may be towed.

👤 Age Requirement
Riders must be at least 16 years old to legally operate an e-bike in Pennsylvania.

⚙️ Legal E-Bike Definition
Must have operable pedals.
Motor: 750 watts or less.
Max speed: 20 mph on level ground using motor power only.
Weight: Under 100 lbs.

🛡️ License, Registration, Insurance
Not required for e-bikes meeting the above definition.

📍 Where You Can Ride
Same places as bicycles.

🪖 Helmets
Not legally required for riders 12+, but strongly encouraged for everyone.
Riders under 12 on a bicycle must wear a helmet.

💡 Lights & Safety
Front and rear lights required between sunset and sunrise.
Riders must follow all traffic laws like any other cyclist.

✅ Ride Smart. Ride Legal. Ride Safe.
