On June 6, our International Awareness & Involvement Committee hosted a “Dining With a Purpose” fundraiser at California Fish Grill in Gardena, CA.

Funds raised through donations and event sales will directly support Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s international initiatives in Africa and Haiti, including educational programs, teacher training efforts, and a hospital that provides essential healthcare services to local communities.

What an amazing year it has been for our AWARD WINNING Delta Academy and Delta G.E.M.S Committee!

Our young ladies have enjoyed a variety of enriching experiences, inspiring guest speakers, and hands on activities throughout the year.

We began by creating vision boards focused on short and long term goals and later attended the Respect My Crown screening at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Participants learned valuable budgeting skills from Ms. Shimeka D. Lott, owner of Lott Of This-N-That, LLC, created custom lip glosses with Jasmine of Being Brown Beauty, and received golf lessons at Chester L. Washington Golf Course from the men of Get Up and Down Golf, Inc.

We concluded the year on May 30 with a candle making workshop led by Ashley, the CEO and Founder of Ashcooks, LLC. From financial literacy to entrepreneurship and self-care, our girls have been treated to a year of learning, growth, and fun!

We hope they enjoyed our monthly meetings as much as we enjoyed having them. We look forward to seeing many return next year, and we wish our graduating seniors the very best as they begin their college journeys.

On May 16, 2026 the Social Action Committee hosted Voters Registration at the Carson Mall.

Registering to vote is the first step in making your voice heard. It ensures you have a seat at the table when decisions are made that impact our communities, our families, and our future. As members of a sisterhood founded on the principles of social action, we are called to lead, advocate, and uplift. Civic engagement isn’t new to us, it’s part of our legacy. We honored that legacy by registering, and informing potential voters of the power of their voices. Change starts with us!
