Co-Work + Play, in my mind, is the solution to my daily obstacle, that is, working from home with the little ones present🤦🏾♀️, I meant💁🏾♀️ (lol). So, honestly, I’m starting this out of pure desperation.
Quick Backstory: After sharing my pain-points with some of my mommy friends, I’ve gathered that I’M NOT ALONE! There are moms just like me, in my own community, who want to be great, but need reprieve to do so. That’s when I thought of the co-working space with child care model. I was very familiar with co-working spaces but hadn’t seen it combined with child care 🤔. If something like this existed, I could thrive beyond the 2-hr nap time baby takes. I could really dive into my business without having to worry about my child for hours on end.
After doing some research, I quickly found that I wasn’t quite on the frontier of things, as there only a couple of dozens in the world, a handful in the United States, a few in Northern California, a couple others in Burbank and Hollywood, but none in South Los Angeles. That screams, “potential market”. I thought to myself, “I’ll develop this on my own!”, but first I need a community to prove that there is a need for this business concept.
I want to build a community of women who are in all phases of life, from new mom to Mompreneur. I want to build a space that is member-focused with the best amenities (hello, lactation room!) based on the community’s and needs and wants.
The late Kofi Annan said, “When women thrive, all of society benefits and succeeding generations are given a better start in life.” So, if women are set up for success to thrive at home, work and in life, unthinkable things can happen. In order for this to be our reality, we need balance. Co-Work + Play can provide that balance. We’re here for the homemaker, the single mom, the student-parent ..... EVERY WOMAN who is looking to advance in life seamlessly through not only the support of the child care component but most of all the friendships and connections that will develop organically. We want to provide “Self-Care Sunday’s”events/workshops, business classes and more!
