What if God isn’t denying you the opportunity?
What if He’s developing your capacity to carry it?
I had a dream that took me back to football training camp. I was frustrated because I wasn’t getting the reps I believed I deserved.
As a former college and professional football player, I knew exactly what that meant:
Reps reveal who the coaches have chosen.
But God used that familiar frustration to reveal something much deeper about my life, my calling, and the wilderness seasons we often mistake for rejection.
Then I was led to Deuteronomy 8—Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness.
And at 40 years old, it hit differently.
Maybe some of what I called delay was development.
Maybe some of what I called rejection was preparation.
Maybe the opportunities I didn’t receive were teaching me how to create opportunities for others.
And maybe God can appear to move excruciatingly slow—until He moves supernaturally suddenly.
This article is for anyone who knows there is more inside of them than their current circumstances reflect.
Don’t let today’s depth chart prophesy your destiny.
The reps man gives you are not necessarily the measure of the role God has assigned you.
And sometimes the reason you spent years wondering why they wouldn't put you on the field...
is because your ultimate assignment was to build one.
