JDP focus will be to develop DILA (Diabetic Institute of Los Angeles) which will serve as a one stop resource for the diabetic community. Screening , education , research and clinical services will be the core foundation for these disease specific centers of excellence. JDP has identified the need for diabetic centers with the ever increasing diabetic population and the co-morbities that accompany this life changing disease. The Diabetic Institute in San Antonio, TX is a county facility that provides a one –stop shopping model for the diabetic population. This facility serves as a model for building community based health networks in combating this growing epidemic. JDP short term objectives is to open a clinical facility in a strategic area that will be able to capture the high risk diabetic market. Our initial focus will emphasize education, research and clinical services focusing on wound care and diabetic foot management as a foundation for the one-stop model. Long term objectives will provide ancillary services as well as other clinical components to disease management.
