Semi-Pro Records is relaunching as Semi-Pro ARTS
The new collective and brand will allow for more collaboration, and more flexibility in future ventures and events. I started Semi-Pro Records out of a love for all things music, even though I don’t have any skill at creating music. I saw it as a way for me to uplift and foster a community I love. The support and encouragement from the start has been amazing, and allowed us to do some very cool stuff. The label opened doors, and opened my mind to what is possible, across all media.
While I don’t make music, I do create visual art, and have been fortunate to collaborate with a lot of great artists. In recent years, making art has taken some time and focus away from the label, but it is still a passion of mine. Rebranding as a combined ARTS collective will focus all that creative energy in one space. In the past, visual art exhibits and projects have been done under the PLAID Collective, sometimes in conjunction with Semi-Pro Records audio components. The new Semi-Pro ARTS umbrella will combine all those concepts, and allow me to further grow those collaborations, while also providing space for my own direct creative input.
