The Lovejoy Foundation rescues all breeds, ages and sized dogs and puppies. We are a volunteer based organization, with a large foster program as well as a facility. Included with each adoptions fee, we provide spay or neuter, micro chip, rabies, all three rounds of vaccinations, de-worming and de-fleaing as well as two hours of free professional training. Our adoption process starts with an appli

cation, interview (face to face), and then a home check. All dogs/puppies are required to have a collar and Lovejoy Foundation ID tag on when leaving for a new home and it is mandatory these two things remain on the dog/puppy at all times. All dogs being adopted into a new home with existing dogs in the home must be brought to adoptions for proper introductions on neutral ground before an adoption is approved. Every adoption into The Lovejoy Family is thoroughly evaluated and we reserve the right to refuse an applicant at any time.

Some dogs don’t rush into your life—they ease in quietly, like they’ve been watching and waiting for the right moment. ☀️

Niles is one of those dogs.

He’s a 1-year-old neutered Havanese/Lhasa Apso mix who arrived as an owner surrender with Bella Bee and Big Foot. Since then, he’s been taking everything in with soft eyes and careful steps, slowly learning that the world is safe again.

Niles isn’t the type to demand attention or push his way forward. He watches first. He thinks. He listens. And when he decides you’re okay, he shows you something really special—gentle trust, quiet affection, and the kind of companionship that feels steady and sincere.

He’s looking for a home that won’t rush him. A home that understands that love can take its time. Patience, consistency, and calm routines are what help him shine. He has plenty of puppy energy and adores play and snuggles.🐾

🐾Lambert has the kind of face that tells a story — soulful eyes, a gentle spirit, and a quiet hope that someone will finally choose him forever. Found wandering in Hawthorne and brought in by animal control, this sweet hound mix is now getting the fresh start he deserves.

Lambert is calm, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love. He enjoys the simple things: a soft bed, a peaceful walk, kind words, and being close to people who make him feel safe. There’s something truly special about him — the kind of dog that becomes your loyal shadow and best friend. He walks great on leash and loves exploring the neighborhood 🏡
