——— RIP Jeanette ♥️
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on March 21 at 2:30 PM at the Ingleside Garden Center, 2740 Mustang Drive, to remember Jeanette Wuest, lifetime resident of the Ingleside /Corpus Christi area.
Jeanette passed to heaven on February 13, 2026, at Harbor Hospice in Portland. Mina Jeanette Storms was born on June 20, 1942, in Selma, California to Gerald Lee and Carrie Lois (Tampke) Storms. A private cremation was arranged through the Neptune Society.
Jeanette moved with her family to Ingleside in 1945 and enjoyed twelve years in Ingleside schools with many lifetime friends. As a young teen, Jeanette trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior at First Baptist Church in Ingleside. Although she hasn’t been active in a local church for several years, her faith in God never wavered. Jeanette graduated from Ingleside High School in 1960. Following graduation, Jeanette was a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone in Corpus Christi. She married in 1961, and after her son, Chester Richard Wuest, Jr. (C.R.), was born, she became a full-time homemaker. After residing in Corpus Christi and Portland for several years, Jeanette had been a resident of Ingleside since 1982. Some years after moving back to Ingleside, Jeanette worked for NAPA Auto Parts, delivering parts to various businesses in the Corpus Christi area. Contacts at those businesses often commented on her smile and happy disposition. Jeanette loved people!
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her brother, Jerry Gene Storms, of Ingleside. Surviving are her son, C.R., and his partner, Connie Fredell; granddaughter, Kayla Wuest Lines (Philip), and three great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Stein, and Luna; sister, Jenelle VanMatre; nephews Jay Storms (Paulette), Jonathan VanMatre, Reagan VanMatre, and niece, Jana Shaw, as well as several cousins. The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU unit at Spohn Shoreline Hospital and Harbor Hospice for their loving care of Jeanette in her last days.
Those who wish to remember Jeanette in a special way may make gifts to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
