Save the Himler House Non-profit organization-non-taxable donations are needed and appreciated.

Himler House is the former home of Colonel Martin Himler, an early twentieth-century Hungarian immigrant coal mining entrepreneur and World War II Office of Strategic Services officer and Congressional Gold Medal recipient.

HIMLERVILLE HISTORIC MARKER AWARD!!

The Martin County Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., is happy to announce this news from Dr. Jim Seaver, Community Engagement Coordinator, Kentucky Historical Society: The application for a Himlerville highway marker presented by the Martin County Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., to the Kentucky Historical Society was received and approved by the evaluation committee, the committee was “blown away by the very strong application and the history of Himlerville,” and a bronze highway marker at Himlerville will be erected and dedicated in mid 2027. The Martin County Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., is grateful to hear and share this news!
