Desert TheatreWorks is holding auditions for two blockbuster musicals in our 2025–26 Season:
HEAD OVER HEELS and THE CHER SHOW.

HEAD OVER HEELS
A laugh-out-loud Elizabethan romp set to the iconic music of The Go-Go’s.
Casting Needs:
• Philoclea (late teens–early 20s, female): Sweet, sincere, yearning for true love. Strong actor/singer.
• Pamela (late teens–early 20s, female): Confident, beautiful, self-absorbed but vulnerable. Strong actor/singer.
• Mopsa (late teens–early 20s, female): Sharp, witty, Pamela’s handmaiden and confidant. Strong actor/singer.
• Musidorus (late teens–early 20s, male): Earnest young shepherd, romantic and comic range. Strong actor/singer.
• Basilius (40s–50s, male): The proud, pompous King of Arcadia. Commanding comedic presence.
• Dametas (40s–50s, male): Dry, witty viceroy; a wise voice of reason. Strong comic timing.
• Pythio (20s–40s, male/female/nonbinary): The gender-fluid Oracle of Delphi. Charismatic, bold, magnetic presence.
• Ensemble (teens–adults, all genders): Singers, dancers, and character actors to create the world of Arcadia.

THE CHER SHOW
The dazzling bio-musical celebrating the life and music of Cher, featuring three performers as Cher at different stages.
Casting Needs:
• Babe (late teens–20s, female): Young Cher — playful, wide-eyed, finding her voice. Strong pop/rock vocals.
• Lady (30s–40s, female): Cher in her prime — confident, glamorous, powerhouse singer. Strong belt/mix.
• Star (40s–50s, female): Cher later in life — wise, reflective, resilient. Strong belt, dramatic presence.
• Sonny Bono (30s–40s, male): Charismatic, ambitious, Cher’s partner. Good comic timing and pop tenor.
• Gregg Allman (30s–40s, male): Rock star swagger, soulful vocals.
• Georgia Holt (50s–60s, female): Cher’s mother — supportive but blunt.
• Ensemble (teens–adults, all genders): Singers/dancers who cover multiple roles, including iconic celebrities and musicians. Strong pop/rock vocal ability.
