Today marks the anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. We stand in deep solidarity with our undocumented community, our students, our families, and the resilient Dreamers who continue to shape, inspire, and uplift our collective future.
A Call to Action: DACA is Not Enough
While DACA has provided vital temporary relief for over a decade, it is not a permanent solution. Living renewal to renewal is not justice. Today, we call on our lawmakers to move past temporary fixes and establish a definitive, permanent pathway to citizenship for all Dreamers and undocumented families who call this country home. Dignity means stability, security, and a future free from fear.
Did You Know?
Our roots in this movement run deep! Danza Azteca Citlaltonac once assisted Mario Lascano from Comite Latino in crucial mobilization efforts for DACA. Today, our co-founders continue to actively support DACA recipients, ensuring our ancestral traditions remain a source of strength and sanctuary for those navigating these systems.
Honoring Our Partners
The fight for permanent protection and dignity never stops. Today, we want to give a massive shoutout to and uplift our incredible community partner, TODEC Legal Center, for their relentless, wonderful efforts in providing vital resources, legal aid, and unwavering advocacy for our immigrant community here in the valley.
To our community: We see you. We honor your journey. We are here for you. Yesterday, today, and always.
Unidos Venceremos.
