Here's our SEPTEMBER 2026 Calendar.
Open booking for SEPTEMBER 2026 is on AUGUST 17th
Open booking for OCTOBER 2026 is on SEPTEMBER 14TH at 8am sharp.
You must call 760-366-1100.
PRESS OPTION #4 and LEAVE A MESSAGE.
We stop accepting spay/neuter requests at 9:00am (one hour after the lines open for open booking day) due to reaching our max number of spay/neuter requests for appointments for the following month. WE UNDERSTAND this is a very tedious, frustrating and time consuming task to get an appointment. Our phone lines will be busy and you will have to call over and over again and only 200 LUCKY individuals will get through in one hour. GOOD LUCK!!

Dejaremos de aceptar solicitudes de esterilización/castración a las 8:30 a. m. (30 minutos después de que se abran las líneas para el día de reservaciones abiertas) debido a que alcanzamos nuestro número máximo de solicitudes de esterilización/castración para citas para el mes siguiente. ENTENDEMOS que conseguir una cita es una tarea muy tediosa, frustrante y que requiere mucho tiempo. Nuestras líneas telefónicas estarán ocupadas y tendrás que llamar una y otra vez y sólo 200 personas AFORTUNADAS podrán comunicarse en esos 30 minutos. ¡¡BUENA SUERTE!!
If you don’t get an appointment during open booking day, please try our standby option. Directions for a STANDBY appointment can be found by calling our office, 760-366-1100 or on our website, animalactionleague.net. Information regarding the types of pets we can’t spay can also be found on our website.
Vaccine and microchip clinics are held from 10am-2pm during spay/neuter clinics unless noted otherwise on the calendar. You DO NOT need an appointment for vaccines or microchips.
Please be advised we are a non-profit with ONE medical team without government funding. We have the right to refuse service to anyone who treats our staff or volunteers with disrespect. We also have the right to refuse any pet for any reason due to our small staff and mobile clinic size.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we are trying our best to cover a vast area that is in desperate need of our affordable services. Thank you for wanting to be part of the solution.

It seems logical: it's hot, so shaving off all that fur must help your dog stay cool, right? For many breeds, it's actually the opposite. A double coat insulates against heat as well as cold and protects skin from sunburn, shaving it can leave your dog hotter and more vulnerable. ✂️

Instead, support their coat naturally: brush regularly to remove loose undercoat and improve airflow, provide shade and water, and limit activity during peak heat. When in doubt, ask your vet or a professional groomer what's right for your specific breed.

Nature designed that coat for a reason. 🐕
