RAGBRAI Riders, as you leave Indianola tomorrow, don't miss the opportunity to visit Hoosier Row's 1-Room School House just off Hwy R63. It is truly a treasure with all the original artifacts from when classes were held here between 1900 through 1959. This place is an amazing time-capsule!

A BIG THANK YOU to Barb Veasman Holland and the Rustique Boutique for inviting Hooser Row Community Center to be the featured Non-Profit Organization this past weekend. We enjoyed being able to share the school house with so many people that stopped by our booth.

Thanks also for your generous donation.

Most importantly, we are grateful to those people who stopped and talked with us about the school house, the restoration project and generously left donations, we are so appreciative.

Lastly, thanks to the following HRCC members who spent part of their day sharing information & memories about the school house with people that came to our booth: Don & Carol Putney, Larry & Alice Champlin, Judy McClymond & Malinda Patch-Gray.

What a night we had last night at Hoosier Row. We welcomed Jeff & Dawn from Bakeris Roofing to our meeting and had a light meal, then got the most awesome news of our lives! This company is very involved in the community and has a strong desire in making an impact - Dawn saw the Channel 13 News article about Hoosier Row and talked to Jeff about them getting involved in helping us save the school's roof.

We are so thrilled that Bakeris Roofing is DONATING all the materials, shingles and labor to our roofing project for the school house. This thank-you seems so small - we are so blessed.

I have been ask how people can donate to the Hoosier Row Capital Campaign? On-line donations can be made to our GoFundMe page by following this link. The school house is in desperate need of a new roof. Your donations allow us to make these improvements and ensure this time-honored structure is around for another 100 years.

Donations will help cover the cost of putting on a new roof of this wonderful old building. We are looking to get the roof replaced this summer as we don't think it will be able to withstand another Iowa winter Any help would be greatly appreciated. We had some excitement this morning with Maria Lisignoli from Channel 13 News and her camera man coming to the school house to interview Judy McClymond. They were interested in the story of Hoosier Row and all of the precious artifacts that are still here. Members present to receive them were President Larry Champlin, Secretary/Treasurer Genie Hansen, Judy McClymond, Boardmember and Malinda Patch-Gray (baker/hostess).

The segment on our beloved school house will air on Channel 13 News, tomorrow - April 30th. Be sure to tune in and catch this awesome interview. Thanks to Judy McClymond for sharing your knowledge of the school house and Hoosier Row!
