Summer Nights & Flights is almost here! 🎈☀️

Join us Friday, June 12th, as downtown Indianola comes alive with great food, local shopping, live music, and the beautiful hot air balloons that make this event a community favorite.

We're excited to welcome Hearts Desire to the Patio in Sunshine Alley. Shondra and Kim have been performing together since the late 1990s and bring a family-friendly blend of country, oldies, and pop favorites. They've even performed at the Iowa State Fair, and we're thrilled to have them share their talents with us.

While you're enjoying the music, stop in for chips and salsa and sip on one of our $5 bucket margaritas. It's the perfect way to spend a summer evening with friends, neighbors, and visitors enjoying everything that makes Indianola such a great place to call home.

We hope to see you Friday!

🚲 Volunteers Needed This Saturday! 🚲

The Indianola Elks Lodge is proud to support the Indianola Mayor's Youth Council Bike Fest, and we're looking for 6–8 members, spouses, or significant others to help with bike safety stations during the event.

This is a fun way to spend a couple of hours giving back to local youth while helping fulfill our ENF Beacon Grant commitment.

Saturday, June 6 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
If you're available to help, please contact Beth Davidson.

A few hours of your time can make a big difference for the kids in our community!

Meet Missy Bloom, Club Manager

As we gear up for our Meet the Officers event, we’re excited to introduce one of the people who helps keep the Lodge running day after day, Missy Bloom!

Missy has been a member of the Elks for 9 years and says what first brought her in was the social atmosphere, but what kept her involved was the opportunity to help support good causes and give back to the community.

For Missy, the Elks feels like family. She loves the friendships, teamwork, and sense of community that comes from members stepping up to help one another and support the Lodge.

As Club Manager, Missy says a typical night at the Lodge is busy, fast-paced, friendly, and full of members pitching in wherever needed. She especially encourages members to consider volunteering for events... particularly in the kitchen, where extra helping hands are always appreciated!

👉 Her advice for volunteers? Bring commitment, customer service, a smile on your face, and be ready to jump in when things get busy.

Fun fact: Missy has been to Disney more than 20 times and proudly calls it her favorite place on earth!

Come meet Missy and the rest of our Lodge leadership on Thursday, May 14 at 5:30 PM before our Lodge meeting!

Meet Kirk Bloom, Esquire

As we gear up for our Meet the Officers event tomorrow, we’re excited to introduce Kirk Bloom!

Kirk has been a member of the Elks for 16 years and was inspired to get involved because of the organization’s support for veterans and youth programs.

For Kirk, being an Elk means being part of a great organization that helps support the community and people in need. He says one of his favorite things about the Lodge is the opportunity to help make our community a great place to live.

As Esquire, Kirk enjoys introducing the Lodge to new members and helping them feel welcomed and connected. One responsibility people may not realize about his role is supervising the ballot process during meetings.

👉 His advice? Ask where help is needed. There’s always a way to get involved and make a difference.

Fun fact: Kirk is a hot air balloon pilot!

Come meet Kirk and the rest of our officers on Thursday, May 14 at 5:30 PM before our Lodge meeting!

Meet John Johnston, Trustee

As we gear up for our Meet the Officers event, we’re excited to introduce John Johnston!

John has been a member of the Elks for 2 years after being invited to check out the Lodge by a friend. As a veteran and someone who cares deeply about the community, he says it quickly felt like the right place to serve, support others, and make a difference.

For John, being an Elk means showing up for others, lending a hand where it’s needed most, and leaving a positive impact along the way.

His favorite part of the Lodge? The friendships. “Hands down. The connections built here turn into something really special."

👉 His advice? Jump in, volunteer, and bring a friend. The more the better!

Fun fact: John is a proud parent of 5 amazing kids and enjoys old cars and taking quiet cruises down back roads with no music... just listening to the world pass by.

Meet Kim Weeks, Chaplain

As we gear up for our Meet the Officers event, we’re excited to introduce Kim Weeks!

Kim serves as our Lodge Chaplain and looks forward to supporting members through prayer, reflection, encouragement, and care during times of sickness or distress.

She joined the Elks because of the organization’s commitment to veterans and the community and takes pride in being part of a group that continues to make a difference through charitable work and service.

Kim is also the Indianola Elks Quilts of Valor group leader and is passionate about honoring veterans through handmade quilts that symbolize gratitude, comfort, healing, and appreciation. Supporting veterans is deeply personal to her, as two of her brothers served in the Army and her stepfather served in the Navy.

👉 Her advice? Come to meetings, volunteer, and get involved! Kim also welcomes anyone interested in helping with Quilts of Valor and no sewing skills are required. “If you can iron, we need you!”

Come meet Kim and the rest of our officers on Thursday, May 14 at 5:30 PM before our Lodge meeting!
