Recently, at our IDOC Putnamville Correctional Facility, something truly special happened…
Our Fatherhood Celebration brought together 10 dads, 13 caregivers, and 20 children for a day filled with emotion, connection, smiles, and meaningful moments of bonding.
Some reunions were YEARS in the making:
♥️ One father hadn’t seen his children in 9 years
♥️ For another father, it has been 7 years
♥️ One dad was reunited with his 4-year-old for the first time since they were just 7 months old.
These weren’t just visits…they were powerful steps forward in rebuilding relationships.
With our “MVP” theme, we encouraged each dad to see himself as Most Valuable — not just on this day, but in the lives of their children. And they showed up exactly that way.
One of the most touching moments was our affirmation craft, where dads wrote messages of love and encouragement to their children, and children did the same for their dads. Words that will last far beyond the day.
A HUGE shout-out to our event coordinator, Cora Butler, for creating a fresh vision and making it come to life! Families traveled from as far as Illinois to be part of this celebration, which is proof of just how important these moments are.
We’re grateful to everyone who made this day possible and proud to support opportunities that strengthen families, restore connections, and remind every dad that they matter.
