46th & Monon Trail - Sat, Aug 1: Sign up to help install a traffic calming safety demonstration project to reduce speeding and make this Monon Trail crossing safer for all. https://app.betterunite.com/46th_and_monon

If you can’t volunteer, you can donate to support the supplies the team needs to purchase. Additionally, this project will make it safer to pull out of Carvel St onto 46th St, and it will make is safer to cross 46th St near both the baseball park and Arsenal Park.

Note - This project is being led by community members, with support from Central Indiana Cycling and approvals from Indianapolis Department of Public Works. The temporary safety demonstration project will include data gathering before and after - and we hope it will lead to a long term safer design from Indy DPW.

POV:

You live in a neighborhood with a community garden that doesnt have p**p parasite berries, has a working splash pad, new basketball court, and a brand new playground (that should be open any day!)

Life's great, your community is thriving

School 91 is starting construction on the playground and is asking that we keep out of the school grounds while this is ongoing.

Emergency Call Out:

A group of nearly 100 cars parked their cars inside of Arsenal Park yesterday and left a giant mess. Can we get a group of neighbors together at 3pm today to clean this mess up so we can get back to enjoying our community park?

While we have advocated many times for measures to be taken to not allow vehicles to drive into the park, that's a conversation for another day. Today, we clean up our neighborhood!

Final map for the Sobro Community Yard Sale. This is in addition to the Monon trail sale AND it sounds like Canterbury has organized a community sale as well. Lots of fun ways to spend time checking out our neighbors' goodies this weekend.

With the summer heat arriving, I've been hearing from several constituents who are eager to see the splash pad at Arsenal Park open.

I checked in with Indy Parks, and they shared that all mechanical work has been completed. The splash pad is currently awaiting final approval from the Marion County Health Department before it can open.

Indy Parks will post the latest updates on its website, and I'll share the link in the comments.

In the meantime, the pool at Broad Ripple Park is scheduled to open on June 13, 2026.

22 Yard Sales signed up so far for the Sobro Community Yard Sale. This is happening simultaneously with the Monon Trail Sale. So lots of reasons to walk and ride around the neighborhood to talk to neighbors and pick up sweet new to you stuff for your house!

Still time to sign up to get added to the map here: tinyurl.com/sobroyardsale
