FROM THE FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY:
At last! After two years, the Harvest Luncheon Returns!
It was a huge disappointment when, after several years of well attended and highly successful Harvest Luncheons, we had to cancel in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid situation. But this fall
the Harvest Luncheon is back with great food, our popular Silent
Auction, history presentation, door prizes, and more! The event will take place Saturday November 5th at noon at Grace Church, 5605 S. Franklin Rd. This year’s entrée will be Chicken Normandy, an autumn-appropriate dish made with white wine, apples, chicken and broth, topped with cheese and served over rice. (People with gluten intolerances: There is no wheat product in this dish.) The meal will also include salad, rolls, desserts, and beverages. As at our 2019 Luncheon (pictured), in addition to the meal the event will offer a variety of gift baskets on which to bid in our Silent Auction. This has been extremely popular in previous years and we’re happy to offer it again. We will also enjoy live music from talented pianist Jim Kemp, and attendees will be eligible to receive various door prizes. Our publications about local history will also be available to browse and purchase. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE, and received by Oct. 28th, as we have to give the caterer an exact count. Tickets are $20 per person when purchased by a member of the Historical Society; the price is $25 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased either online at our website or by mailing a check to our post office box. Visit https://www.fths.org/.../harvest-luncheon-and-silent.../ to purchase tickets online, or mail a check (payable to the Franklin Township Historical Society) to FTHS, P.O. Box 39015, Indianapolis, IN 46239. We’re looking forward to having you join us for this enjoyable event! Come have fun while supporting the work of the Historical Society.
