So honored to have The Compassion Project featured by WTHR. Feeling incredibly grateful for this community and everyone who continues to show up with compassion.

I got a call today from a woman who saw us on WTHR. She reached out because she’s trying to help a family that has been living on a porch for over a year.

It’s a mom and her three adult children. Two of the kids and their mom are living with sickle cell. She asked if there was any way we could help.

We’re going to take them boxes of food, but there’s an immediate need for a wheelchair for the mom. If anyone has a wheelchair they no longer use, or would like to donate toward one, it would make a huge difference.

If you’re able to help in any way, whether through a donation or by sharing items, please reach out to me directly. And if you’re able to donate, we’re incredibly grateful. Every bit helps us show up when someone asks for help.

We’re incredibly grateful to be featured by WTHR as part of their micro giving campaign.

Being selected means more than we can put into words. It shines a light on the families and individuals we serve and helps turn small acts of generosity into real, tangible support. Every share, every dollar, every kind word truly matters.

Thank you to WTHR for believing in our mission and helping amplify compassion in our community. And thank you to everyone who continues to support, encourage, and stand with us. This work is only possible because of you.

Pure Christmas joy.

Twenty families with a total of 64 kids were surprised by Santa and his elves with gifts straight from their letters. The Compassion Project was honored to sponsor 12 of those children, providing each with $200 in gifts along with cold weather clothing, a new pair of shoes, and a coat. Some additional surprises included an upholstered queen size bed frame complete with a new mattress, a seven piece bedding set, and two new pillows for a special teen, a brand new bike and helmet for another incredible girl, and essential items we often take for granted like wipes, diapers, and even a high chair.

We also purchased $2,000 in grocery gift cards to give to the parents, offering a little extra support and one less thing to worry about during the holidays. We are incredibly grateful to have been included in this special event and thankful for the many generous individuals who sponsored the other children and those that volunteered their time to wrap, sort and pack each kids personalized giant red Santa bag full of all their gifts. It was, without question, the best day of the year for me and a beautiful reminder of what this season is truly about. Special shoutout to Amanda and her binder!

So many boxes. So many smiles waiting to happen.
Every gift here is headed to a child who deserves a little extra magic this season. Grateful for every person who made this moment possible and helped turn kindness into something tangible.
