Out here with our good friends Foster Success having a wonderful time at their Annual Conference where foster youth have congregetaed from across the state to celebrate and learn with/from each other.

Our job is simple - try to keep up with our other good friends Dress For Success Indianapolis in prepping the males for their headshots 🙂.

Best part of this work is we get to meet with individuals from so many different subpopulations - going to be hard keeping the eyes dry today.

This is what it’s like when worlds collide!

Thanks to Near North Development Corporation for letting us be a part of their open house on Saturday showcasing their newly finished homes at 2420 & 2422 N Capitol Ave and the upcoming duplexes and townhomes for sale on the 21st block of N Ilinois St! Thanks to federal and local subsidy, all homes will be sold as affordable (households making less than 80% Area Median Income) or workforce housing (80-120% Area Median Income).

Our clothing drive was a massive success - thanks to everyone for your support!

Last week at the 16 Tech Innovation@ District was a powerful reminder of what can happen when community partners come together to invest in people and opportunity.

We were honored to support a career fair with Prospanica Indianapolis, where we helped 15 individuals get career-ready with suit jackets, shirts, and ties before they headed to have professional headshots and conversations with prospective employers. Along the way, we connected with incredible partners including Daniel Benefiel from Morales Group, Inc, Maria Quiroz-Southwood from the Indiana Latino Institute, Tommy Arvo from Per Scholas Indianapolis.

We also had the privilege of partnering with Elevate Indianapolis and the IPS students participating in their mentor and coaching programming. Together, we led a session on how to dress for an interview and even taught students how to tie a tie. Each student also walked away with their own suit jacket to wear as they walk across the stage celebrating their graduation later this month.

Moments like these are what community impact is all about — confidence, preparation, and creating opportunities for the future. We’re grateful to everyone helping make that possible across Indianapolis.

As a new organization, our Board of Directors was carefully built to reflect a comprehensive group of subject matter expertise, end-user representation, leadership, and entrepreneurship. We are proud of what has become the foundation of our strategy, services, and place here in Central Indiana. As we continue to grow in response to an overwhelming demand for services, we thought now would be a good opportunity to get to know our team a little bit better 😊. Up first is In Pursuit Of Vice Chair, Brandon Taylor, Executive Director, LISC Indianapolis .

Brandon Taylor is a community development leader with more than twelve years of experience helping neighborhoods grow stronger, more connected, and more equitable. As Executive Director of LISC Indianapolis, he leads a passionate team working to expand access to quality housing, healthy food, economic opportunity, and thriving communities across the city. His leadership is grounded in relationships and a deep belief that lasting change happens when people and systems are aligned in service of community.

Brandon joined LISC Indianapolis in 2022 as Program Officer for Family Income and Wealth Building and later stepped into leadership roles as Deputy Director, Interim Executive Director, and now Executive Director. Along the way, he helped reestablish the office’s strategic direction, secure more than $5 million in new grant awards, and grow the advisory board to 20 active members.

Before returning to his home state of Indiana, Brandon served at LISC Philadelphia, where he supported resident leadership, capacity building, and community safety efforts. He also worked as a Program Manager at The Trust for Public Land, overseeing the design and construction of parks and playgrounds across Philadelphia, and as a Project Manager with LISC NYC’s Build It Back program following Hurricane Sandy.

Brandon currently serves on the boards of In Pursuit Of, Habitat Homeownership Finance Solutions, and the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, and on the steering committee of the Indiana Assets & Opportunity Network, where he contributes to statewide strategies focused on wealth building and financial security.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies, with a minor in Architecture, from Cornell University, and holds a certificate in Real Estate Development from eCornell. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with his wife and their three children.

We’re incredibly honored to share that In Pursuit Of was selected as the featured nonprofit at the President’s Table during the The Economic Club of Indiana March Luncheon.

To be in a room filled with leaders from across our state, and to have the opportunity to represent the work we’re doing here in Central Indiana, was truly special.

We are especially grateful to have heard from and met Richard V. Reeves. His leadership and research continue to shine a light on the real and growing challenges facing boys and young men in education, workforce participation, and overall well-being.

Through the American Institute for Boys and Men, Richard is advancing critical conversations and solutions to ensure that boys and men have the support, opportunity, and pathways they need to thrive in today’s world.

At In Pursuit Of, this mission deeply resonates with our own commitment to empowering young people with purpose, direction, and access to opportunity.

We left the luncheon inspired, challenged, and even more committed to the work ahead.
Grateful for the opportunity, the connections, and the continued pursuit of impact. 🙏

Another one out for delivery thanks to our friends at the Damien Center! These will go to a member of their Customer Service and Hospitality training program. At the end of this 12 week training program the Damien Center will be helping this individual find long term employment opportunities!
