Last night was special for more reasons than one.

At the foremost, we were honored to be recognized at the 2026 Nonprofit Excellence Awards presented by IBJ Media and KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller) as the first-ever New Nonprofit of the Year recongizing nonprofit less than 3 years old that is already having significant impact on the community or the specific constituency it serves.

Another notable “first” - For the first time since In Pursuit Of began, our entire team as it stands now, was together in the same room.

That might seem surprising, but it's a reflection of how this organization has grown. We're a working board, volunteers, community partners, and supporters spread across different schedules, careers, and commitments—all united by a shared belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to look their best in pursuit of being their best.

Seeing everyone together was a reminder that In Pursuit Of has never been built by one person, or even a few. It has always been built by the many people willing to give their time, talents, and hearts in service of others.

To every board member, volunteer, referral partner, funder, donor, and supporter: thank you. You are the reason we've been able to serve hundreds of individuals across Central Indiana, and you're the reason we're just getting started.

Here's to many more firsts together.

One last time, special thanks to the team at IBJ for recognizing how nonprofit work fits into the larger private and public business ecosystem. While incredibly rewarding in its own, the work of nonprofits is hard and it was so special to have a night away from the day to day grind. Truly an honor to share the stage with such great organizations and community leaders.

As a new organization, our Board of Directors was carefully built to reflect a comprehensive group of subject matter expertise, end-user representation, leadership, and entrepreneurship. We are proud of what has become the foundation of our strategy, services, and place here in Central Indiana. As we continue to grow in response to an overwhelming demand for services, we thought now would be a good opportunity to get to know our team a little bit better 😊. Up next is one of the top 2 bankers on our team, Isaac Heath!

In his current role as a Emerging Middle Markets Relationship Manager with BMO, U.S., Isaac Heath partners with companies throughout the State of Indiana to provide acquisition, working capital and general commercial financing. Isaac also partners with other line of business partners to provide expertise on other financial services including Treasury Management, Private WealthServices, Investments, Mergers & Acquisitions, Foreign Exchange, International Services, Derivatives, Equipment Leasing, and Pension/401k.

Isaac has worked in banking for over 12 years with a wide scope of knowledge in the commercial banking space. In addition to supporting commercial businesses, his portfolio includes family-owned businesses, manufacturers, healthcare, and local nonprofits.

Before becoming a banker, Isaac brings a ton of experience and lessons learned in the suit industry from his time with Men's Wearhouse - an incredibly valuable aspect to our team.

Heath holds both an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Ivy Tech and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Grace College. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.

Thanks to Mirror Indy for taking time to share this major milestone for the organization!!

Six months ago, Brian Carman measured his first client for a suit at the Amp at 16 Tech. He was preparing to launch his mobile nonprofit, In Pursuit Of, to give free professional clothes to men who are veterans, formerly incarcerated or unhoused and are getting ready for a job interview or their first day at work.

Now, 77 clients later, he is opening a storefront in downtown Indianapolis.
Every client leaves with two jackets, two dress shirts, two pairs of pants, three ties, a belt, shoes and socks. Steel-toed shoes are available, too. In Pursuit Of also offers a mentorship program.

"When it first clicked for me, that this was going to have the impact that we intended it to, is when I started getting individuals who have been hardened by so many of life's challenges text messaging me pictures of themselves, telling me how proud they feel," Carman said.

🥳🚨BIG NEWS to share with our Central Indiana Community!!

Through a pair of innovative in-kind partnerships, Stenz and Morales Professional, a morales group company have provided the physical infrastructure that will allow IPO to expand workforce development services for men across Central Indiana.

Today we announce the launch of our first-ever storefront location and dedicated professional attire storage space through landmark partnerships with the two Indianapolis companies.

Located at 429 N. Pennsylvania Street in downtown Indianapolis, the new storefront donated by Stenz serves as IPO's first brick-and-mortar location for participant appointments. Referred through IPO's network of nonprofit, educational, and workforce development partners, men can visit the storefront to receive professional attire, interview preparation, and workforce readiness support tailored to their employment goals.

Supporting those services behind the scenes, Morales Group Professional, a division of Morales Group, Inc, has created a dedicated professional wardrobe center less than two miles away. The attire storage- space houses more than 1,000 pieces of professional clothing and accessories and serves as the organization's primary inventory center, ensuring the storefront remains stocked and ready to serve participants throughout the year.

Together, these spaces create the foundation for a more efficient and scalable service model, allowing IPO to serve more men while maintaining the personalized support that has defined the organization since its founding.

This is far more than storefront and storage space, it's a community coming together to remove barriers to employment. Morales Group and Stenz looked beyond traditional giving and asked how their existing resources could create lasting impact. The result is a workforce development hub that will help us serve more men, more effectively, for years to come.

The new facilities represent a major evolution for IPO, which has traditionally operated through mobile deliveries and community partnerships. While IPO will continue to provide mobile pop-up events and direct deliveries through referral partners, the addition of its first brick-and-mortar storefront and dedicated professional storage space creates a stronger operational foundation for future growth.

The partnerships also demonstrate a powerful model for corporate community engagement. Rather than traditional sponsorships, Stenz and Morales Group leveraged existing assets to help address operational challenges and increase nonprofit capacity.

It’s a clear and demonstratable model of how businesses can leverage existing assets, not just financial contributions to create lasting community impact. By providing both a participant-facing storefront and the operational capacity required to sustain it, Stenz and Morales Group have helped establish a new model for workforce development support in Indianapolis.

Just over a year ago, In Pursuit Of was an idea rooted in a simple belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to look their best in pursuit of being their best.

Today, we are incredibly honored and grateful to be recognized as the IBJ Media New Nonprofit of the Year. In what is about as close to a full-circle moment as it gets, as we approach the one-year mark of Sam Stall’s front page article that would serve as the catalyst for an overwhelming amount of support from the community, we are first immensely grateful to the entire IBJ team for this meaningful recognition and their attention to the nonprofit community in a pretty crazy world.

This recognition reflects an amazing first year made possible by an extraordinary board, dedicated volunteers, generous donors, committed corporate partners, and the many individuals who believed in our mission before we had proven what was possible. Thank you for helping turn an idea into meaningful impact.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is the company we're fortunate to keep.

Several of this year's honorees—including HVAF - Helping Veterans And Families, the Damien Center, Foster Success, and the Indiana Latino Institute —are organizations we have the privilege of partnering with every day. They are among the many referral partners who trust us to serve the people they support by providing professional clothing, confidence, and workforce readiness resources.

From the beginning, our goal was never to duplicate the incredible work already happening throughout Central Indiana. It was to strengthen it.

We believe the greatest impact happens when nonprofits work together, each contributing their unique strengths to remove barriers and create opportunities. We are proud to play one small part in that larger effort.

Out here with our good friends Foster Success having a wonderful time at their Annual Conference where foster youth have congregetaed from across the state to celebrate and learn with/from each other.

Our job is simple - try to keep up with our other good friends Dress For Success Indianapolis in prepping the males for their headshots 🙂.

Best part of this work is we get to meet with individuals from so many different subpopulations - going to be hard keeping the eyes dry today.

This is what it’s like when worlds collide!

Thanks to Near North Development Corporation for letting us be a part of their open house on Saturday showcasing their newly finished homes at 2420 & 2422 N Capitol Ave and the upcoming duplexes and townhomes for sale on the 21st block of N Ilinois St! Thanks to federal and local subsidy, all homes will be sold as affordable (households making less than 80% Area Median Income) or workforce housing (80-120% Area Median Income).

Our clothing drive was a massive success - thanks to everyone for your support!
