The Spiel Foundation The Spiel Foundation is a 501(c)3 non profit organization built from this premise: play is a positive powerful force in the world.

The Spiel Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to making the world a better, more compassionate place through games and play by building and supporting playful communities locally, regionally, and internationally. Our goal is to make the world a more playful place. We believe play can make the world a better, more just and compassionate place for all. Play improves social interaction - it builds relationships. Play sharpens intellectual skills, and encourages joyful relaxation. Play builds connection and community across all generations. We follow many paths to accomplish our goal. We donate bundles of games to diverse populations. We create game-related media and recognize excellent game design with two internationally recognized awards. And now The Spiel Foundation plans to create a hub for all its activities in Indianapolis, the DeKoven Center for Play, bringing new cultural opportunities to the region and to anyone interested in following a playful path.
