The Spiel Foundation

The Spiel Foundation The Spiel Foundation is a 501(c)3 non profit organization built from this premise: play is a positive powerful force in the world.

The Spiel Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to making the world a better, more compassionate place through games and play by building and supporting playful communities locally, regionally, and internationally. Our goal is to make the world a more playful place. We believe play can make the world a better, more just and compassionate place for all. Play improves social inte

raction - it builds relationships. Play sharpens intellectual skills, and encourages joyful relaxation. Play builds connection and community across all generations. We follow many paths to accomplish our goal. We donate bundles of games to diverse populations. We create game-related media and recognize excellent game design with two internationally recognized awards. And now The Spiel Foundation plans to create a hub for all its activities in Indianapolis, the DeKoven Center for Play, bringing new cultural opportunities to the region and to anyone interested in following a playful path.

Painting parties, game moving parties, and punching parties are all on the horizon.

Stay tuned!!

What an incredible, inspiring and amazing time we had.

My friends in Enugu, Nigeria are hoping to host the second annual SebCon.

They need to raise a modest sum ($2,000) to grow the event.

Games are such a great way to build community.

Watch the intro video and you'll see the whole SebCon team's passion for play is a positive force in the world.

If you have an extra dollar or two, I hope you will consider helping them reach their goal.

Every Spielathon completes a beautiful circle of fun.

You come and pay a little to play… so others can play too.

All money we raise during a Spielathon aids The Spiel Foundation’s core mission: promoting play as a positive and powerful force in the world. We donate thousands of games to organizations in need across North America and around the world. And we are opening the DeKoven Center for Play in Indianapolis very soon.

NOTE: We always need volunteers! If you’d like to help run the Spielathon, send me a message.
