It has been a true pleasure having Dr. Jim Spiegel with us at ITS this week.

During his time here, Dr. Spiegel recorded an episode of 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘜𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘋𝘰𝘸𝘯, served as the featured speaker at our latest symposium, attended the Indianapolis Prayer Breakfast, and joined our PH 701 Apologetics class to teach on the problem of evil. We kept him quite busy!

We’re grateful for the time he spent with our students and community, and for the ways his teaching continues to serve so many.

If you were unable to pick up a copy of his latest book, 𝘈 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘺: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘴 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘐𝘴 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, at the symposium (we sold out), it is readily available at many major online book stores!

Far more than a set of slogans or denominational distinctives, Reformed theology is a deeply biblical tradition that seeks to recover and proclaim the glory of God, the authority of Scripture, the grace of the gospel, and the centrality of Christ in all things.

Drawing from Scripture, church history, and the confessional heritage of the Reformation, Dr. Piotrowski helps us understand what it means to be Reformed, why these doctrines have endured, and how they shape the life, worship, and mission of the church today.

We are grateful to Dr. Schrock for more than a decade of service to ITS! He is a founding board member, and a founding faculty council member. In the Lord’s providence he is now rolling off the faculty council to allow more time for his church ministry, Christ Over All leadership, and other teaching and writing opportunities. We look forward to retaining Dr. Schrock as an adjunct as providence allows, and wish him all the best for the glory of God and the good of the church!

In his latest essay for Christ Over All, our President, Dr. Nicholas Piotrowski, reflects on how the Psalms teach us to see resurrection hope more clearly. Tracing themes of death, deliverance, and life in God’s presence, he shows how the Psalter bears witness to Christ in rich and compelling ways.

Read the full essay here:

In Luke 24:44, Jesus tells his disciples that the Old Testament pointed towards his own death and resurrection. See how the Psalms and the Psalter reflect this truth.
