Indy Going Blue for IMPD

Indy Going Blue for IMPD We want our officers to know that the community of Indianapolis supports them. We will stand with them in every way we can as law abiding citizens.

This page was created as a message of support from the community to IMPD and our first responders. It has grown well beyond Indianapolis and Indiana. Blue lights are shining throughout the United States and beyond to let those who dedicate their lives to public service know their community is behind them. We believe that those who rush in during dire times should have the backing of the community

they serve. We will stand behind those who hold that thin blue line, and we are a voting public. Our message of support is simple and clear. Thank you to those who serve.

He was an outstanding officer and an amazing person. Our hearts are grieving with the law enforcement community today as they lay to rest Beech Grove Police Officer Brian Elliott.

Our blue lights are still lit, will stay on, we see you, we thank you, you and your families are dear to us and in our thoughts and prayers.

Pray for our officers, they need it...shot at on the far east side of Indy while protecting our community 🙏

Candlelight Vigil Tonight, Wednesday Feb 18th, at 6:30.

The City of Beech Grove, along with community members, local leaders, and law enforcement agencies will gather for a candlelight vigil TOMORROW, Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. honoring the life and service of Beech Grove Police Officer Brian Elliott, who was killed in the line of duty on Monday, Feb. 16.

Officer Elliott joined the Beech Grove Police Department in April 2024. A native of Beech Grove, he was fulfilling a lifelong dream of serving as a Beech Grove police officer when he fell in the line of duty. According to Beech Grove Police Department Chief Michael Maurice, Officer Elliott had a calling to be a police officer, specifically a Beech Grove officer.

The vigil will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance, reflection, and support for Officer Elliott’s family, fellow law enforcement officers, and loved ones. A limited number of candles will be provided. The community is invited to attend and participate.

Earlier today, the Central Indiana Police Foundation announced it is hosting the official, family-approved fund to support the family of Officer Elliott. To donate, visit https://cipf.foundation/in-memory-of-beech-grove-officer-brian-elliott/.

Asking our community to put out our blue lights once again. Let's let Indy's Law Enforcement Community know we are thinking about them, praying for them, and support them. Let's show their families and friends that they aren't alone.

This is a terrible loss to the Beech Grove community, he was their 'home town kid' serving the community he grew up in. This doesn't affect just that community though. It impacts every law enforcement family and first responders community. They need our support in any way we can show it - Let's light up our community in blue!
