Agency Spotlight: Calvary Chapel Outreach Center 🌟

We are proud to highlight one of our incredible partner agencies, the Calvary Chapel Outreach Center in Danville!

Here is a look at the heart, history, and hands behind their impactful work in Hendricks County:

✨ A Story of Community Generosity
The center's location has a special history—the church originally donated the property to Hendricks Regional Health for a doctor’s office. After the doctor retired, Hendricks Hospital leased the building back to the church for just $1 per year to turn it into a dedicated food pantry!

🚗 How They Serve

Drive-Thru Convenience: Volunteers bring groceries directly to your car, making visits easy and accessible for both families and seniors.

Choice-Based Ordering: Although food is pre-packaged, neighbors get to choose the items they would like to receive.

Frequency: Eligible neighbors can visit up to 2 times per month.

Impact: Serving 60 to 70 families every week, powered by 15 dedicated volunteers who make it all happen!

Did you know that switching to whole grains is one of the easiest ways to boost your daily energy, improve digestion, and support heart health? Unlike refined grains, whole grains keep the entire grain kernel—delivering extra fiber, vitamins, and minerals in every bite!

Here are 4 simple, delicious swaps to try this month:
🍞 Bread: Swap white bread for 100% whole wheat or sprouted grain bread.

🌟 AGENCY SPOTLIGHT: Hazelwood Christian Church 🌟

We’re grateful for partners like Hazelwood Christian Church who continue to serve their community and adapt to changing needs. 💙

Every 3rd Tuesday night, their dedicated team prepares and distributes fresh meals to eight different partner agencies throughout the community. At one point, they were preparing and serving up to 300 meals in a single evening! Today, they’re preparing around 140 meals each Tuesday night—still making a meaningful impact for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. 🍽️

As local housing situations have changed, so has the way Hazelwood Christian Church reaches those in need. Their commitment to providing fresh meals and making sure their neighbors have access to food remains strong.
