Three charity events. One weekend. A whole lot of good happening in our community.
Indy Facets Private Jeweler is proud to sponsor dozens of charity events throughout the year. Most weekends there’s just one event to support, but a few times each year the calendar lines up just right where multiple great causes happen at the same time. This past weekend was one of those special ones.
We had the privilege of supporting three incredible charity events, each doing important work right here in our community.
Friday night began with Reason to Dance benefiting Riley Children's Foundation at The Indiana Roof Ballroom.
Modeled after Dancing with the Stars, this event pairs community leaders with professional dancers who spend months preparing before performing in front of 600 guest in a ballroom competition to raise funds supporting Riley Hospital for Children. Rafael Sánchez was an incredible host and having so many Indianapolis Colts players and other local celebrities in attendance was incredible!
This year was extra special for us because our longtime friend Andrew Kurz was one of the celebrity dancers. After four months of hard work and fundraising, Andrew and his dance coach absolutely crushed it and he was named Grand Champion of the event for raising the most money of any celebrity dancer.
We were honored to contribute with our Indy Facets Lockbox Game and a pair of diamond earrings for the lucky winner. For those who haven’t seen it before, the lockbox holds the prize inside a locked box. Guests can purchase keys as a donation to the charity, and one of those keys opens the lock while hundreds of others don’t. When the keys sell out, everyone lines up to try their luck until someone finds the one that opens the box. It’s always a huge hit and raises thousands of dollars for the charity.
Also happening Friday evening was Noble of Indiana’s Noble Evening in the Garden.
While we unfortunately couldn’t attend in person this year, this marks our 10th year supporting Noble and their mission of empowering people with disabilities to live meaningful and independent lives.
The event takes place the night before the Indiana Flower & Patio Show opens to the public and transforms the gardens into a beautiful tasting experience featuring small bites from restaurants across Indianapolis. We were proud to continue our tradition and donated a pair of diamond earrings and a pearl pendant symbolizing this events 30th year!
Saturday night brought us to the Indy Hygiene Hub “Dancing Through the Decades” Gala at the Renaissance Hotels in Carmel. Another incredible event supporting an organization doing vital work by providing hygiene resources to individuals and families in need throughout our community.
This was our 5th year supporting this event and we were excited to once again attend in person, this year with two Indy Facets tables filled with friends, and even more friends throughout the room supporting the cause.
We brought the Lockbox Game back out for the evening, featuring a pair of diamond earrings. In addition though, thanks to our very generous friends, Ben Stoner and Marissa Stoner, the winner also walked away with a very rare bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, which made the moment even more exciting when the winning key finally turned.
By the end of the weekend, Indy Facets directly helped raise more than $31,000 for these charities, the ripple effect from these events will continue well beyond the weekend and that number will grow significantly.
Many people don’t realize that Indy Facets doesn’t spend money on traditional advertising. Instead, we use what would be our marketing budget to create jewelry and fully donate it to charities so they can raffle it off and raise funds. Often those pieces raise two or three times more than what we could have donated directly. That way we get exposure as a business and the charities get the funding they desperately need. It’s the perfect symbiotic relationship.
That approach comes from our owners Shaun Goodyear and Tiffany Goodyear’s deep passion for doing as much good as possible in our community. Supporting organizations that make a real difference has always been at the heart of what Indy Facets stands for.
This weekend was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together for a good cause, times three.
To everyone who organized these events, volunteered their time, donated, danced, bid, and showed up, thank you for helping make our community such an incredible place.
