West Indianapolis Community Fund The West Indianapolis Community Fund (WICF) an innovative neighborhood-based community fund.

Since its inception in 2009, the West Indianapolis Community Fund (WICF) an innovative neighborhood-based community fund managed by the Central Indianapolis Foundation, has awarded $274,725 to 83 community based projects in West Indianapolis. Over the past five years WICF has dispersed grants within the following categories: Connecting Neighbors to Resources, Community Engagement and Neighborhood

Beautification. These grants were offered to neighbors and community organizations to improve the community and were many times matched with their own volunteerism and dollars. While many of these were small grants they have produced big physical and social change.

With the unseasonable weather and sunny skies many of you have already raked your leaves, but it is now time for 2024 leaf collection season. Leaves will be picked up starting November 11th and continue to December 6th. You may dispose of up to 40 bags of leaves each week with your regular trash. Place leaves in large plastic trash bags and place these bags out by 7 a.m. on your normal trash day. Keep the leaf bags away from your cart collection (these are picked up separately) and off sidewalks.

Never rake leaves into streets or into the curbs. Please keep storm drains clear as well. Remember, burning leaves is illegal in Marion County as it releases harmful particles into our air. Illegal burning may result in fines up to $2,500.

Trash will be picked up normal this week, even though yesterday was Veterans Day. The next change in schedule for trash is Thanksgiving.

Please feel free to share this information with others. Appreciate you helping to spread the word.

We received some great news today! In the City's first round of alley paving, West Indy made the cut. The alleys between Lambert and Miller, Shepard, and Lee (there are 2 blocks of alleys in this project) will be paved. Phase #1 alleyway work will kick-off before the end of 2024 with completion targeted for Spring 2025.

Please understand that this is still the first round of alleyways for this program. The $5 million alleyway budget is to be distributed over 3 years. If your alleyway is not included in this round, please continue to report it and flag it on my radar. Feel free to reach out with any questions to:
