Last Friday, a group of KDO dancers, accompanied by members of our staff, had the opportunity to experience the magic of The Lion King - Musical at the Old National Centre, followed by a special talkback with members of the cast. 🦁✨

This memorable experience was made possible through the generosity of Arlene and Tom Grande, who sponsored this incredible gift for our dancers. We are also grateful to Amy Pauszek, whose connection helped bring this opportunity to life, and to Broadway Across America for helping make it all happen.

At KDO, we believe the experiences that shape us start with the experiences we create together. Every day in our space, children build confidence, discover their voices, and learn to express themselves through movement and connection. We carry that foundation beyond our KDO classes by connecting our dancers with the arts, working artists, and our broader community—opening doors to new possibilities, inspiring imagination, and nurturing a sense of belonging. Experiences like this extend what begins at KDO, reminding our dancers that the creativity, courage, and curiosity they cultivate in the classroom can take them anywhere.

✨We are hiring a Development Specialist✨ Reporting to the Development Director, the Development Specialist will support KDO’s fundraising efforts, donor relationships, communications, grants, events, and community engagement. This role is key to building and strengthening relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, artists, and community stakeholders through thoughtful communication, personalized engagement, and consistent follow-up.

Homecoming 2026: Organizing Around Joy. 🧡🩷🩵

Joy is more than a feeling. It’s how we build community, strengthen our collective power, and make room for what’s possible.

At Homecoming, we danced, left messages on the KDO phone, connected with one another, and spread the word about the KDO Center. Together, we celebrated not just how far KDO has come, but the future we’re building together.

And that bandana? It carries that spirit beyond Homecoming. It’s a symbol of belonging, a conversation starter, and a reminder that this movement grows every time we show up, rejoice, and bring others in.

We’re excited to share that Kids Dance Outreach has been awarded a grant from the Ronald A. Block Field of Interest Endowment Fund, a fund of the Indianapolis Foundation.

This support helps sustain access to high-quality, tuition-free dance education for children and families across Indianapolis, ensuring more young people have access to dance, create, connect, and belong.
