Psi Iota Xi National

Psi Iota Xi and the Hoosier Salon share one of the longest-standing and most valued partnerships in both organizations’ histories. Since the early years of the Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibition, Psi Iota Xi has supported the arts in Indiana and across the Midwest.

In 1940, Psi Iota Xi named the Hoosier Art Salon Patrons Association and Fine Art Galleries its second national cultural project. The following year, Psi Otes began supporting the Salon by purchasing three paintings each year and awarding them to chapters through convention drawings. In 1951, Psi Iota Xi established the “Jury Prize of Distinction,” presented during the annual Hoosier Salon Art Show.

National Council recently donated a bound copy of meeting minutes from National Council meetings and national conventions to the Indiana State Library and Historical Bureau in Indianapolis. This volume preserves these historical records from the past several years, and they will be kept together with previously bound PIX minutes in a climate-controlled room. The volumes can be viewed at the library by making an appointment with the Rare Books and Manuscripts department.
