The last North Church Farmers Market day of the season is coming up on Thursday, Sept. 4 from 4-6 p.m. in the church's parking lot at 3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. Let's make it a great one!

BIG THANK YOU to the Meridian Kessler Neighborhood Association (MKNA), which presented a $5,000 grant to the North Church Farmers Market last Thursday! Two market dates remain in 2025: Aug. 21 and Sept. 4, when the market will be held from 4-6 p.m. in North's parking lot at 3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.

TODAY, Thursday, Aug. 7, is a North Church Farmers Market day! We hope to see you in the church parking lot from 4-6 p.m.! Our address is 3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. We're on the corner of 38th and Meridian Streets. Come see the farm-fresh produce our vendors have prepared for you!

In 2024, 48 local growers vended at Fresh Bucks-participating farmers markets, having the opportunity to increase food access in varying Indianapolis communities. Of those growers, Fresh Bucks participants shopped with 32, providing an opportunity for additional revenue. Throughout the year, the average revenue generated amongst those 32 growers was $529.09, which is additional income growers would not have otherwise received from accepting Fresh Bucks cards.

This in turn helps support the local economy; the revenue that allows growers to afford seeds or supplies for the following growing season, soil and/or water testing fees to increase yield and minimize disease, labor to help maintain crops or harvest the produce to offer at the farmers market, etc. When you shop with local growers, you’re not just buying from friendly faces at the farmers market or farm stand, you’re supporting new farmers, generational farmers, and farmers who care so deeply about the food system, they’re working long, hot days to travel hundreds of miles across a season to bring food to your community.
