My friend David Tinnes captures the power of catch so well in his book. He wrote, “Throughout my catch journey, I have experienced on a daily basis, the wondrous value of meeting with people, dedicating time to be present and to hear whatever it is they want to share. It is in that shared time that something sacred occurs. We have the freedom to open up, to be vulnerable, and to truly be heard and acknowledged. Every game of catch, regardless of whether or not we had previously played catch before, was unique because it was happening right then and right there. It was in each game of catch that a mutual impact on one another was experienced.”
