History of A Caring Place Adult Day Services, Catholic Charities Indianapolis
In 1990, after completing a neighborhood survey in the Butler-Tarkington area, the Caring Community, a grassroots organization of the Butler-Tarkington area, a need was identified for more services for the elderly in this area. As a result the Caring Community contacted Catholic Social Services with a request of management of an adult day program to be located in Fairview Presbyterian Church. Thus, A Caring Place Adult Day Services was borne in 1990. For the first two years Caring Community totally supported the adult day operation. Catholic Social Services began total management, including fiscal responsibility in 1992.
