Perry Kiwanis Golf Outing Fundraiser Set for June 18 at New Venue
Sponsorships, contests, online reservations again available
The Perry Kiwanis golf outing, a southside tradition, this year moves to a new venue – Southern Dunes Golf Course. The event offers players a chance to compete for exciting prizes and golf auction items and also provides sponsors some new options to reach their customers. The eleventh annual fundraiser will help Kiwanis support Hunger Inc., Riley Hospital for Children, Baxter YMCA and Perry Schools. The event honors the late Ken Wheeler, a charter member of the club and Southside business leader.
The Title sponsorship, introduced last year, is $2,000 and includes one foursome. Hole sponsorships are $800 with one foursome and $300 with no foursome. Beverage cart sponsorships are $400 and are limited to two. Golf is $125 for individuals or $500 per foursome. Single golfers will be matched with open foursomes. Registration includes lunch and dinner, a round of golf, cart, and beverages on the course (including b**r).
The “golf cannon” will return, giving players an opportunity to use an air-powered golf ball launcher instead of a driver on the first shot of a designated hole. “Super Tickets” will be available at $25 each and provide two mulligans, one skirt and one putting contest entry.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., lunch and networking at 11, and a sh***un start at noon. Dinner afterward will include an awards presentation and a silent auction where participants can bid on a variety of items donated by local businesses and individuals.
The Kiwanis Club of Perry Township was formed in 1982. The club helps support the above-mentioned organizations and several others as well. It also performs a number of community service projects including Connecting with the Community where new winter coats, shoes and other items are offered to Perry Schools students and their families who are in need.
The club meets at the IHOP restaurant, 7521 U.S. 31 South, Thursdays at 7 a.m. and on Zoom.
