1,251 blocks in Indianapolis have a Block Captain. Together, they cover 312 miles of streets.

That's a neighbor on the eastside who walks the same corner every Saturday with a bag. A retiree near Garfield Park who knows which stretch of sidewalk fills up after a windy Friday. A captain in Mapleton-Fall Creek who keeps the storm drain clear so the next rain doesn't carry trash downstream.

Today, we’re celebrating two incredible KIB team members and their work anniversaries!

Adam Schmutte, Vice President of Native Landscapes, is celebrating 10 years with KIB, and Katie Waters, Greenspace Sustainability Program Senior Manager, is celebrating 5 years.

Their leadership and dedication have helped grow greener neighborhoods, stronger green spaces, and a more beautiful Indianapolis.
