Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs We advocate for and connect Clubs statewide to further the mission of BGCA. In Indiana, 308,914 kids leave school with nowhere to go.

Boys & Girls Clubs fill the gap between school and home. We provide welcoming, positive environments in which kids and teens have fun, participate in life-changing programs and experiences, and build supportive relationships with peers and caring adults. The State Alliance is the vehicle to submit proposals and secure state funding for Clubs. State Legislatures or State agencies grant monies to the Alliance and in turn the member Clubs are the sub-recipients of the funding.

🧠💚 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | OCTOBER 10, 2026 💚🧠

Mental health matters. Every. Single. Day.

Sometimes taking care of your mental health looks like:
🌿 Taking a break
💬 Talking to someone you trust
😂 Laughing with a friend
🎧 Listening to your favorite song
🚶 Getting outside
💤 Getting some much-needed rest
❤️ Asking for help when you need it
🤝 Checking in on someone else

And sometimes… it simply means giving yourself permission to say:

“Today, I’m doing the best I can.”

For young people especially, having safe adults, supportive friends, and spaces where they feel seen, heard, and valued can make a powerful difference.

✨ Today’s challenge:
Check in with yourself AND check in with someone else.

Ask: “How are you REALLY doing?”

Then actually listen. 💚

Because mental health isn't just about getting through the hard days.
It's about building lives where young people can thrive.

🙌 NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A HIGH FIVE. 💙

Sometimes, making a difference in a young person’s life doesn’t require a big speech, a special activity, or the perfect words.

Sometimes, it’s just…

🙌 A high five.
😊 A smile.
👋 A “Hey, I’m glad you’re here.”
💬 A “How’s your day going?”
👏 A “I knew you could do it!”
❤️ A moment that says, “I see you. You matter.”

For young people, these small moments of connection can be powerful.

A high five can celebrate a win.
It can encourage someone who is struggling.
It can build trust.
It can create belonging.
And sometimes, it can be the moment a young person realizes that someone noticed them.

As youth workers, educators, mentors, coaches, and caring adults, we have countless opportunities every day to create these moments.

So today, don't underestimate the small stuff.

🙌 Give the high five.
👂 Listen to the story.
😊 Learn their name.
💙 Celebrate the little victories.

Because connection is not extra, it’s part of the work.

And sometimes, a simple high five says more than we realize.

Who are you giving a high five to today? 🙌💙

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

We’re officially halfway through the week!

Take a moment today to pause, breathe, and remember: you don’t have to have everything figured out to be making progress.

Maybe today is the day you:
✨ Celebrate a small win
💬 Encourage someone who needs it
🙌 Give yourself some grace
❤️ Connect with a young person
😊 Choose kindness—even when it’s hard
🌱 Take one small step toward something that matters

And here’s your Wednesday Challenge:

Finish this sentence: “Today, I’m choosing to ______.”

Drop your answer in the comments! 👇
Let’s fill this Wednesday with encouragement, positivity, and a little inspiration. 💙

Happy Wednesday! Make it a good one! ☀️

For 20 years, Boys & Girls Clubs in Indiana have been delivering Indiana Kids, a program designed to help young people learn, grow, and build the skills they need to succeed in school, work, and life.

Indiana Kids is foundational to our programming and has helped generations of Indiana youth strengthen reading and math fluency, social-emotional wellness, college and career readiness, and workforce readiness. The program also empowers young people to discover meaningful ways to give back to their communities through volunteerism and service.

For two decades, Indiana Kids has been more than a program it has been a commitment to helping young people recognize their potential, develop their strengths, and prepare for their futures.

Since 2006, we have been inspiring learning, building skills, strengthening communities, and building great futures.

Connect with skilled counselors in a non-judgmental and confidential manner through call, text, or messaging online
What to expect:
You will hear or see a message that provides service selection options. Once connected with a counselor, they will say hello, introduce themselves, and then ask if you are safe.
After asking about your safety, the counselor will listen, understand how your problem is affecting you, provide support, and share any resources that may be helpful.
You are never alone.
