Mounds Greenway, a sustainable alternative to protect a free-flowing White River, connect communitie

The Mounds Greenway is a sustainable plan for conservation, recreation and economic opportunity along the West Fork White River and is proposed as an alternative to the Mounds Reservoir. THE MOUNDS GREENWAY PLAN
The Mounds Greenway would be a linear park along the White River with boundaries that generally follow the river’s flood plain (approximately 2,300 acres) and would provide a trail connect

ion from the western limit of the Muncie White River greenway to the eastern limit of the Anderson White River trail. The proposed greenway plan would protect the free-flowing White River and riparian habitats along the river, which includes hardwood forests and wetlands. It would also preserve Mounds State Park as well as local parks such as the Rangeline Preserve, Walbridge Acres, David Shellabarger Park, and Morrow’s Meadows. The Greenway would include picnic areas, river access sites, trailheads and parking at each terminus (as well as at Chesterfield, Daleville, and Yorktown), and an interpretive center at Rangeline Preserve.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the 8th Annual Ride for the Mounds yesterday at Canoe Country in Daleville! The beautiful Indiana October weather was perfect for a bike ride (albeit a little windy!) and we loved seeing return riders as well as many new faces! A big shout out to Kirk's Bike Shop for donating a Jamis Hybrid Citizen bike** (valued at $539) and hosting a SAG stop and to Greenway 500 for hosting a SAG as well!
