Please join us in congratulating Alex Cropper on being named the recipient of the Merle Miller Eagle Scout Project of the Year Award. Alex's Eagle Scout project was also recognized nationally as the CST 9 Territory Winner of the Adams Award.

Alex began his Scouting journey as a Cub Scout and has demonstrated dedication, resilience, and leadership every step of the way. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, he persevered—earning 71 merit badges, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, attending the 2023 National Jamboree, and remaining active in Scouting leadership and service.

For his Eagle Scout project, Alex led an ambitious effort to transform a retired school bus into a Polar Express train engine, creating a magical holiday attraction for families in Union City, Indiana. The project brought together volunteers for over 900 service hours and stands as a lasting gift to the community. In recognition of his creativity, leadership, and impact, Alex was named Eagle Scout Project of the Year.

His journey reflects a strong commitment to service and inspires others to make a difference. Alex will attend Purdue Polytechnic this fall to pursue engineering.

Adult Leaders: Action Required by May 31

The previous Youth Protection Training expires on Sunday, May 31. All registered adult leaders must complete the new Safeguarding Youth Training by that date to remain eligible to participate in Scouting activities, including summer camp.

Swim Adventure Day – May 30

Registration is now open for our first District Adventure Day of the summer.

Cub Scouts can complete their Swimming Adventure/Swim Test, and Scouts BSA can complete their Swim Test and rank-related swimming requirements before summer camp.

Yesterday, Scouts from the Crossroads of America Council traveled to the Indiana State House to witness Governor Mike Braun sign legislation into law that gives patriotic organizations like Scouting America access to public and charter schools.

This is a significant step toward ensuring that every youth in central Indiana—and across the state—has the opportunity to participate in the life-changing programs Scouting offers.

Thank you to Crossroads of America Council Board Member, Senator Jeff Raatz, for championing this bill and for his continued advocacy for Scouting.
