Lights. Windows. ACTION - Announcement 🔈

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett has once again proclaimed TODAY April 15, 2026 as Light Reduction for Migratory Birds Day!

This is part of a renewed mayoral proclamation beginning in 2024 that asks property owners of Marion County to “minimize their use of lighting from dusk to dawn from April 15 to July 1 and September 1 to October 31.”

🌃Join the movement in the City of Indianapolis by turning YOUR lights out for migratory birds, wherever you are.

🚨 ACTION NEEDED: Sign & Share to Help Save Birds in Indy! 🐦

Each year, up to 1 billion birds in the U.S. die after colliding with glass. Indianapolis has a chance to take meaningful action—but we need your help.

The Indianapolis City-County Council has requested public input to gauge community support for bird-friendly building legislation. This would require bird-safe glass or treatments in new construction and major renovations of public buildings.
