Board Elections

We are excited to announce that the elections for the Contra Dance Board 2026 - 2028 will take place at our May 5th dance!
Indy Contra is a vibrant community, and we are fortunate to have a dedicated board guiding our organization. Our board consists of 7 members, each serving a 2-year term. In May, the members of Indy Contra will be electing 4 board members, while 3 current members will continue their term for another year. (Make sure your membership is up to date!) We are incredibly grateful to all our board members for their time, talent, and leadership. Their commitment ensures that we can continue to dance, celebrate, and build community together.

It's time for our next First Tuesday Indy Contra dance. Our last one of 2025! We will have a special out-of-town band Bobcat Opossum playing. Bobcat Opossum is Ellen Coplin and Sean Hoffman, a genre-bending duo from the back alleys of the Midwestern wilderness. They draw inspiration from Irish, bluegrass, old time, and classical music. We are also bringing back open calling! Any callers are welcome to sign up to call a dance or 2 that night with our special out of town band Bobcat Opossum. Adam Nichols will be on stage to facilitate and call any remaining dances. We've had a couple of house contras and calling parties - it's time to get our new callers on the stage! Help support our new callers and come dance to our fun out of town band! This Tuesday, December 2, from 7:30-9:30pm at the Englewood Christian Church. Come at 7:10 for the beginning lesson. Hope to see you there!
