AND their entire campus is run by volunteers…an incredible stop on our pilgrimage!

Grab lunch and tune in via Teams. Today, 12-12:50 PM.

What does gratitude really look like? Not the easy kind we express in passing, but the deep, complicated kind that acknowledges we can never truly repay what we've been given.

CIC Board Member Vidya Karthik explores these questions through a pilgrimage to India. She writes about her experience, an ancient temple and something we all understand, regardless of our faith: the immeasurable debt we owe to those who raised us.

Her essay is an invitation to sit with that truth. To remember the sacrifices. To show up differently for the people who gave everything for us.

Judge David Shaheed has spent decades in the courtroom navigating questions of justice, rights, and community. His work in Drug Treatment and Reentry Courts earned him the 2007 Judge of the Year award. Named Interfaith Ambassador of the Year, his leadership brings essential perspective to questions of religious liberty.

On Thursday, you have a chance to ask directly. How do our courts interpret religious liberty? How do we build systems that work for everyone?

Andrew Whitehead is one of the foremost researchers on Christian nationalism in America. His award-winning books "Taking America Back for God" provides the first empirically supported definition of Christian nationalism and its implications for our democracy.

On May 7, you have a chance to ask him directly. What does Christian nationalism look like? How does it shape American beliefs and behavior? What are its threats to a pluralistic society?

Join us for Religious Liberty at a Crossroads at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center. Doors open at 5 PM with food and drinks. Conversation begins at 6 PM.
