Partner Highlight: The Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG)

The Michiana Area Council of Governments is a voluntary organization of local governments that studies and attempts to resolve areas of interlocal issues. MACOG is implementing the Regional Housing Collaborative aimed at strengthening communities across St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Marshall Counties.

The Housing Collaborative will establish a three-county regional land bank to serve as a strategic tool to efficiently return vacant properties to productive use. We're so excited to collaborate with MACOG as they work to improve the quality of life in Northern Indiana by transforming vacant properties into thriving homes!

Our Story

The city’s residents, elected officials, and real estate and community development experts came together to create a land bank that connects those willing to invest in the future with the properties that need their help. Our goal is to return vacant properties to productive use by selling them to individuals and non‐profit and for‐profit buyers. With what types of property does Renew Indianapolis become involved? Properties that are abandoned, vacant or have other challenges.
