Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Carrie Ann Glasscock West. An Indiana University School of Medicine graduate, Carrie was a compassionate physician, a loyal friend, and a devoted wife and daughter. Before her passing in 2016, she was a passionate supporter of breast cancer research—including 100 Voices of Hope at IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, a grassroots initiative that empowers donors to fund promising research “hunches” at the cancer center.
Carrie’s mother, Lee Glasscock, recently published a book of poetry, Taking Notes: A Mother’s Healing Journey Through Grief. In it, she shares raw, moving reflections on loss, love, and healing. Through her words, Lee invites readers to walk with her—from the depths of grief into the enduring light of love that never leaves us.
In a beautiful act of generosity, 100% of proceeds from Lee’s book will support 100 Voices of Hope, continuing Carrie’s legacy and fueling innovative breast cancer research. Since 2008, this program has funded 32 research hunches, which have led to more than $15 million in external grant funding.
